Umbrella

Our politicians are getting physical now. Wow! Things have really change hah.

With the things going on now, I really can't see or can't predict what's going to happen to our future generations in this beloved country of ours. How can I? Things can change in just split seconds here, 'now you see it now you don't', 'now you have it now you don't'...

Don't understand what I mean? Neither do I.

I think I better get an umbrella, get some shades from the sun and a little protection from the rain? Just have to make sure the umbrella is in good condition! I enjoyed this video. It's one of the many versions of 'Umbrella' by Vanilla Sky. Hope you do too.

And...here is the original version by Rihanna (the poor girl who got beaten up by Chris Brown)

Slumdog Millionaire.

I watched it! Yes, this 8 Oscar awards winning movie.

I would say, it's good entertainment! Worth my time watching it! A cleverly written story. It's not a true story but it can be, not like the Curious Case of Benjamin Button - can never be! 'True' of course!

This story is about Jamal Malik (the leading actor) who became a millionaire after winning the biggest cash price in the game show, " Who wants to be a Millionaire!" Please don't be mistaken, it is not about how he spend his price. It is about how he can answer all the questions correctly and how in the first place he became a participant in the game show.

This story consists of a string of emotions attached to it. Amused-amazed-disheartening-deception-cruelty-sadness-anger-betrayal-bravery and....a happy ending! Another good thing is, there's no singing and dancing Bollywood style throughout the movie. Only happens at the end.

You don't have to agree with me. Go watch it.

Another Big Sweep?

I was too indulged in the Oscar Academy Awards that I totally forgotten our very own Astro Awards 2009! I'd better do some review of this event before being branded a 'run dog'.

The Astro Wah Lai Toi Awards 2009 was held at the Arena of Stars Genting last Saturday, 21st February. Well, as I didn't watch this event, I have to make do with the results that I got from Simply Fungyi's blog.'Heart of Greed' swept 9 awards this year, breaking previous record by 'War and Beauty' which took 8 awards in 2005. There again, another big sweep!

If you have not watch this drama series, here's a short summary of the drama. It's about one guy who runs a successful abalone business. He has 2 wives and of course children by both wives. The beauty of this story is the wives and children stayed together and lived happily together. Weird right? Only...at first...not ever after. Things got worse when this guy passed away and the second wife wanted to have more share of the business and money. The story ends well of course, but in a very abrupt way. For certain reason I do not like it. Watch it and be your own judge.

FREE Hugs!

After all the cars and cows issue, semi-nude photos scam, corruption accusations, resignations and suspensions, hide and seek games, party hopping, suing and prosecuting.....my my aren't we tired?

I guess I/we need a break from all these. Hopefully this video clip can help lighten things up a little. If we can just hug someone and forget who we are for awhile, maybe, just maybe, we could embrace life better? Just my personal view!

(came across this clip from my friend's facebook uploads)

Of course, he was only joking!

The Curious Case of Elizabeth Wong

The curious case of Elizabeth Wong... Conspiracy? Privacy infringement?

Wow! It's not easy being a public figure eh? Who says it's easy? It was never easy! Be it a singer, actor, sportsman, politician, royalty, businessman. As long as you are in the eye of public, you should be very careful with what you do and what you are about to do. Remember what happened to Michael Jackson, Edison Chen, Chris Brown, Michael Phelp?

Coming back to to Ms Elizabeth Wong, to me she did nothing wrong or at least not wrong enough to cause hurt to anybody. Being a single woman of 39 years, she has all the right to fall in love and be with whoever she chose. She has the right to do whatever she thinks is necessary that can make her relationship lasts. There's no law that forbids couples making out in a private enclosure, is there? There's no law that state that unmarried couples are not to have sex, is there? So....??? What's wrong? Okay, now it has been made public. Her relationships, her semi nude photos, her video, can be seen on the net. So..? I think if we go on net anytime, we should be able to see millions of nude pictures of men and women. So? What's the big hoohaah?

Let us not compare Elizabeth with Soi Lek. We have brains, we have senses. Let us not talk like some brainless, senseless people. I'm sure we know how to weigh these two cases sensibly. Although both of them are public figures, Soi Lek is a married man! With children! He had an affair! Mind you he can be put behind bars if his wife chose to prosecute him! These 2 cases are of complete different category. So, don't ask Elizabeth to resign just because Soi Lek has to!

Elizabeth need not resign, she should stood by her rights. She did nothing wrong, it's her private life. If someone wants to invade into her privacy it's not her fault. Her only mistake is she trusted the wrong guy! For now, she should just let it be! Now it's time for her to prove herself, to be strong, to handle this difficult situation delicately. Just be herself, continue to serve the people, continue to do what she think is right. Not to fall for the trap of those evil mind who wanted to destroy her career or her passion for their own benefit.

I'll stand by her and I hope she is strong enough to ride through this.

Samy...again!

If there's a nomination for the most corrupted.....

I'm sure Sam will be one of those that would be on the list! Whether he will get the award will be another issue but I bet he won't be too far from getting it!

The list too will be so long that we might not see the end of it!

Why? I guessed we are so accustom to corruption, so much so we have turned a blind eye to it....could it be we have been told right from the beginning that it is part of our life, it's the way our society works and that we have to accept it!

I'm not willing to accept this fact but if this is a fact, then is there anything we can do to change it?

Can we flush out all the shit and have a healthier, cleaner society?

Hmmm....where do we start? From the top down? Or from the bottom up? Then the sides? Left to right? Or right to left? How high is the top and how low is the bottom? How wide are the sides? How long do we need? 1 year? 10 years? 100 years? Or longer?

I'm willing to try, as long as it takes. Maybe....that day will come but I guess I won't be around to witness it! It's for the future generations.

Love this guy!

I came across this guy's blog from 'canonmalaysians' and I fell for him right on!

Johann Hari

An award-winning journalist who writes twice-weekly for the Independent, one of Britain's leading newspapers, and the Huffington Post. He also writes for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Le Monde, Le Monde Diplomatique, The New Republic, El Mundo, The Guardian, The Melbourne Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, South Africa's Star, The Irish Times, and a wide range of other international newspapers and magazines.

This guy is damn impressive! I love what he wrote, I love his ideas, I love his senses and I love his guts! Read more about his work here.

If we could have more people like him, we could well be on our way to the true freedom of speech! Freedom to speak of what we believe! Freedom to ask what we think is not right and freedom to correct the not so right things. Freedom to create a better future for our future generations.

You're cool Johann! I salute you!

Thank you 'canonmalaysians'.

I'm a fool?

I am not a politician, nor am I a fan of politics. I don't know much about politics either but I would like to know how this game is being played in our country.

Looking at the situation in Perak state, I'm sure both BN and Pakatan will not budge and will remain firm in their own way. In the process, the people of the state are the ones that will suffer most. When they casted their vote during the 2008 election last year, little do they know that the party they voted for will suddenly changed to another. It's like magic! After you marked the 'X' beside the logo of the party you wanted it may transform to another! The scariest part is, it transforms into the opposition's logo! Wow!

I'm just speechless. I wonder who started this game and who agreed to the rules? If party hopping is allowed in a so call Democratic System, then why are we voting? Are we as voters being informed of this ruling? That whatever party we voted for could just turn to another just because the candidate say so? And we have no right to say anything?

Isn't this what Anwar has been saying since August last year that he will have enough....to take over the government and create 'the change'? Why didn't anyone say anything about this then? If nothing has been said then why is there so much to be said now?

What about Badawi? He hasn't said anything...then and now. Or has he? Excuse me, does he still exist?

Now I really felt like I'm a fool or maybe being treated as one, for I may never understand how this political game is being played. All I know is, as a citizen of this democratic country, I am being played...out! How about the rest of you (Malaysians) out there?

Goodbye, my love!

Granny didn't recover from her stroke. I know she tried and she fought hard. She did everything she was told...trying to get better. To steal more time in this world to spend with her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is such a strong woman, with her condition she still manage to throw in a few jokes and make us all laugh. Leaving fond memories for us to cherish and remember in her own way.

On the 6th of February, she crossed the line...over to the other world...

I hope she will find peace and be free of all her sufferings once she's there.

I hope she will meet up with grandpa, granduncle, her long gone relatives and friends.

If there is really such a thing as The Other World, I hope she enjoys the reunion party they throw for her!

In this world, I'll miss her dearly! She is just irreplaceable!

Can I cry?

Just for the sake of crying? Cleaning my eyes, my brains, my emotions?

Suddenly I felt very tired, suddenly I felt very sad, suddenly everything is very bleak.

Yet no one to turn to, no one to talk to, no one cares?

Can someone take away my burden, take away my sadness, take away my emotion?

Can I, open my heart to let all these feelings flow out?

Or should I just buried them away, in a far away land and forever hold my peace?

I'm sorry I cannot hold on any longer, I'm sorry I cannot help myself,

I'm sorry I'm being emo!

Who cares? It's not important!

Hide n Seek

Hide n seek, a game for children? You think so?

Think again!

I think it's a very popular game now, liked by our politicians, our so called leaders! They hide you seek. Oh yes, they also like to play hop scotch! Hopping from one party to another!

OMG! What's happening? What are they thinking or doing? Another clear case of irresponsible and selfish act by them. They do not have the people in their heart, only themselves, themselves and themselves. Damn!

When are things going to change? ...for the better?

Another shoe attack?

It's a trend! Throwing shoes at someone you don't like? First Bush, now is Wen JiaBao. Alas! they both miss! Wonder who's next? So now big shots will have to hire shoe blockers? Just in case the next time the attackers get lucky?

I'm sure these guys are pretty angry with the duo but I guess throwing shoes at them will not help. It can even get them into trouble.

If you ever feel like throwing things, perhaps throw a few words? Throw thousands of words!

But don't throw shoes! Believe me it's not worth it! I think....

What's next?

What's next?

Valentine's Day...

...is around the corner. Feb 14th.

Another question of why we need to celebrate Valentine's Day? Another money making opportunity for some? To boost up our economy? Maybe we do need it at this time around? Or...maybe not?

I wonder if lovers only celebrate this so called romantic day and do they only exchange gifts on this day? If they make this day so special, what about the rest of the 364 days? If the guy doesn't treat this day as a special day, will his girl ditch him? If a girl doesn't want her guy to treat this day as a special day, will she get another treat later?

My view? Everyday should be Valentine's Day for all. It doesn't have to be an expensive romantic dinner for two, or expensive gifts or 999 stalks of roses. Small gestures come a long way.

A hug, a kiss on the forehead, a peck on the cheek, stroking of the hands, shoulders, backs, exchanging kind and sweet words, a smile, a glance, saying the magic word (I luv u)...need I continue? And all these are FREE!

But it's always easier said than done. When was the last time you tell your wife/husband that you love him/her? Especially those whom have been married for over 20 years! Can falling in love all over again be real? Yes, no, maybe? Well, what do I know?

It's FT Day...

FT Day is today and tomorrow is a holiday for some.

I wonder why do we have FT Day? What does this day marks? For KL, Putrajaya and Labuan?
How do we celebrate FT Day? Is there something or anything that we should do? Is there somewhere we need to go to pay our tribute to...?

Or...

Is it just another holiday being created to balance up the unbalanced public holidays which other states enjoy? (e.g the Sultan's and Governor's birthday)

I wonder if they have FT Day in other parts of this world? New York? Tokyo? Beijing? London?

Can someone, anyone please broaden my narrow mind?

Okay, okay...whatever it is...Happy FT Day!
