This year we didn't have reunion dinner at my grandma's place but we went to her place after our dinner to be united on the 30th night of the Lunar year.
As usual grandma's house is packed! Well, she has 13 children, 17 grandchildren (I guessed her children are not as productive as her?) and 5 great grandchildren! You can imagine the havoc! Actually there's not much havoc as all grandma's children, grandchildren are mostly grown ups except for her great grandchildren.
Normally grandma will dish up a sumptuous meal for this special once a year occasion but not for this time. She had a mild stroke 3 days earlier and she can't do much now. So this year her children did the cooking instead or the easier way out? Take away?
I wish grandma all the health and happiness in this world and a speedy recovery!

Orange is my favourite.
You can't wear orange coloured T-shirt? Why?
You'll be linked to the Kugan's case and may be detain by the police?!! Well, I suppose not and I hope not because orange is my favourite colour! Please don't make me give up my favourite thing just because of some narrow minded or maybe evil minded person who wanted to create an issue and tried to blow it out of proportion!
Aiya! Another issue of brainlessness! What did he say (SHA)? Something like "Don't treat a criminal a hero"? Hmm, he's not wrong if...Kugan is proven guilty but...not until he's proven guilty?
I think none of us would want to do anything like that, turning a criminal into a hero. It's just that he is not proven guilty yet, so he may be guilty or innocent. It's the police's job to prove it and let the court pass the judgement on him. Nobody else! We are not living under marshal law, we cannot simply kill anyone thinking he deserves it!
My opinion? Nobody deserves to die! Everybody deserves a chance!

Boring...!
Can people stay at home and do nothing? Laze around watching one movie after another?
Sleep, wake up, eat and back to sleep again?
The last 2 days has been like this for me. I think I'm going crazy....of boredom! Don't know what to do? Nowhere to go? I slagged! If this situation continues, I would have committed two of the 7 sins, "sloth" and "gluttony"!
Oh no! I'd better do something! Back on my feet again! Yes, writing this is the beginning!

My CNY Wish.
I open my eyes as I lay on my bed wondering...what time is it? What day is it?
Time is always clicking away, no matter how hard you try you can't seems to slow it down or turn it back. So, lying around doing nothing is not something I wish to do.
Time is short, our time is short or is it my time is short? Before I know it, I'm now facing middle age crisis. Things will definitely creep in, slowly...fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, osteoporosis, rheumatism, saggy skin, etc. etc. etc...
Hmm, seems scary but I guess it's something that all of us have to face sooner or later.
So my wish for this Chinese New Year would be, to stay young as long as I can, be it internally or externally. (Wishing myself "Ching Chun Seong Chu")
Talking about young and hot, found this FHM Girls Next Door Search 2009 photo. Aren't they hot or what! Use to be like this, once upon a time....or maybe not?

Holidays - Good or Bad?
Malaysia is such a wonderful country. The people, the culture, the food and of course the holidays!
Since last year (2008) December, we have had holidays after holidays due to the different culture and religion in our country. We had Awal Muharam, Christmas, New Year's Day and this coming week will be Chinese New Year and then FT Day and then Thaipusam!
Wow! I guessed to all the employees out there, it means 'Good' but to all the employers, it has to be 'Bad'? Or maybe not? Well, some people are workaholics. They don't mind working 24/7, 365 days/year whether they are an employee or an employer. As for me, I love holidays! Not because I don't need to work but because holidays means better business for a small time retailer like me.
So holidays are great for me. And for this Chinese New Year, FT Day and Thaipusam, business will resume as usual 10am to 10pm, rain or shine.
After all that's been said, I would like to wish all my Chinese friends "A very Happy Chinese New Year!" And to all the rest "Happy Holiday!"

One for the Opposition!
Yes, it's PAS. One more for the opposition party and one more step closer to the 'Change'.
Hudud law or not, BN has failed to convince the people that they are better. Oops! No. They were actually trying to convince the people that the Opposition are not good to make themselves look better. Hmm...
I wonder if they realized that they could end up looking stupid instead.
Hack, don't really have time for this foolish games. 'Politics are dirty', they say. Maybe they are right or what do I know? I only hope for the better and live to my best.
Now it's time for me to think about Chinese New Year!

I sent her away?
Chinese New Year is around the corner. Many things have to be done.
Cleaning, washing, dusting, scrubbing, rearranging, painting, decorating, shopping.....etc.etc.etc.
Wow, where do I start? At this moment all I could think about is, "I need a helping hand" NO! I need a few helping hands! And I sent my maid away knowing that I need all the help I can find? Yes, I've sent her away even it's way before her permit expire. Was I insane or what? Who in the right mind would do something like this?
Well, I've got my reasons. Right now I have to live with my decision and all I can say is that, "I have no regrets!" ...Yet.
So, I think I'll just take one thing at a time and I'm sure everything would be fine although time is still a great concern.
Good Luck to me!

Hudud Law???
This term has been mentioned again and again and again.
What is Hudud Law? An Islamic law constitution? If it is being implemented in a state or a country, does that mean it will apply to everyone? Muslims and non-Muslims alike?
Does it mean our High Court, Low Court, Medium Court will be changed to Syariah High or Low or Medium Court?
Does it also mean that all non-Muslims will have to follow Islamic Law?
Does it mean that there will be no more entertainment joints allowed, e.g pubs, discos, nightclubs, karaokes, cinemas, etc?
Does it mean that all men can take 4 wives???
If the answer is 'No'. Then why worry? Why all the commotion?
If the answer is 'Yes'. Mama Mia! Then it'll be a big hoohah!
I hope someone can enlighten me on this.

Fine Fishermen?
Read in the paper today that the fishermen who caught the rare whale shark may be fined?
Why maybe? Under investigation? I wonder?
When news broke out about this catch, they didn't mention if the whale caught in the net is dead or still alive. If it was dead, they could have just said it. If not...
...then why pull it ashore? If they (those fishermen) wanted a memento for their deep sea fishing adventure, they should have just taken a picture and release the whale back to its natural habitat. Don't they realized that fish can't live on land? Ask any 3 year old. Be it endangered or not I think we shouldn't kill any animal for fun or out of curiosity. Our ancestors kill for food and to stay alive. That was like during stone age? It's Year 2009 now! I thought human should be smarter and more civilized by now? I hope I was wrong about them, I hope they have a very very valid reason for what they've done!
Sigh, man..what were they thinking?
I don't know what to say, I wish the authority will set a heavier punishment to serve as a warning to all other future ignorant heroes to be!

Weird Snack
While we were in China, we tried some of their local snacks.
Here featured in this video is something that we had at WangFuJing, Beijing. One of the most famous snack street in Beijing. If you like what we had, give it a try.
fried scorpions
Plenty more to choose from, such as cicadas, locust, sea snakes, sea urchins, starfish, seahorse, silk worms, etc. We tried at least half of the above!
But...not for those with weak stomach though. Just be careful with what you eat.

Party's Out!
New year eve's parties has their pros and corns too!
While some just want to have fun ushering to a brand new year, others might over do it. Some will choose to have a hearty meal and then get together with family members and close friends to usher to the new year. Some like to go partying with friends at nightclubs, some go for street parties, etc.
This year we see party goers going out of boundaries, acting too wild and rowdy thus creating a not so pleasant experience for some. Sex parties being organized openly is an eye opener for me! I never thought this could happen in this country!
Although partying is regarded as a way to open up and spicing up your social life or just to let go once a while, it could be disastrous if we go out of bound. We may get hurt or hurt others if we're not careful or if it gets out of control.
I guess the next time I want to go out to have a little fun I would really be more careful in choosing the venue.

My 2009 resolutions...
Year 2009 is here! A year of uncertainty - some say.
But...which year is it that has not been uncertain for me? I thought to myself....hmmm
No!
Not going to think back! Now all I want to think about is what I will do now, later, tomorrow, next week, next month....
Yes!
My new year resolutions are to be happy and happier and the happiest person.
How?
Firstly, must have a lot money. I can fulfill my needs and that will make me happy.
Then, must have a lot more money, I can fulfill the needs of my loved ones and that will make me happier,
Lastly, must have a lot more plenty money, then I can help other people fulfill their needs and that will make me the happiest person!
Wow! Isn't that great!
Now I'm going to eat. Can't do anything on an empty stomach!
So until the next time around, Happy New Year again!
